How it works
KadiTools counts user-perceived characters (graphemes): an emoji like 👍🏽 or a flag counts as one character, as people see it. Platforms differ slightly — X counts some emoji as two and links as 23 — so stay a few characters under the limit to be safe. The byte count shows the UTF-8 size, which matters for databases and SMS encoding.
FAQ
Do spaces count as characters?
Yes, on every platform. The “Without spaces” figure is shown for assignments and forms that exclude them.
Why is an SMS limited to 160?
160 characters with the basic GSM alphabet. Accents or emoji switch the SMS to Unicode, which allows only 70 characters per message.
