How it works
Instagram displays feed posts 1080 pixels wide, in ratios from 1.91:1 (landscape) to 4:5 (portrait). Portrait 1080×1350 takes the most space in the feed. Choose “Fill & crop” and drag the image to choose what stays, or “Fit whole image” to keep everything and fill the sides with a blurred copy of your photo or a solid color. The export is exactly the target size, so Instagram won't crop or recompress it unexpectedly.

Why does Instagram still crop my photo in the grid?
Since 2025 the profile grid shows posts in 3:4. Keep important content near the center.
