How it works
Stories and Reels are 1080×1920 pixels (9:16). Horizontal photos would be heavily cropped, so “Fit whole image” keeps the whole photo and fills the top and bottom with a blurred version. The safe-zone guide marks the top 250 px and bottom 340 px, where Instagram's profile name, reply bar and buttons cover the image — keep text and faces out of those bands.
