How it works
The values are sorted; the median is the middle one, or the average of the two middle ones when the count is even. Quartiles are computed with the same median-of-halves method taught in school (Tukey's hinges), so Q1 is the median of the lower half. The mode is the most frequent value — there may be several, or none.
