How it works
KadiTools decodes your ICO file in the browser, draws it onto an in-memory canvas and encodes it again as PNG. Windows icons often contain several sizes; KadiTools lists each one so you can save the size you need.
PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for screenshots, logos, graphics and anything you'll edit again.
FAQ
Is my ICO uploaded to a server?
No. The whole conversion happens in your browser using the Canvas API; the file never leaves your device.
Will converting to PNG reduce quality?
No. PNG is lossless — every pixel of the decoded image is kept exactly.
Is there a size limit?
There's no artificial limit. Very large images (above roughly 50 megapixels) may be slow or fail on phones because of browser memory limits.
Why does my icon contain several images?
Windows picks the best size for each context (taskbar, desktop, explorer), so .ico files usually bundle 16, 32, 48 and 256 px versions. Each one is listed separately.
