First use only: the OCR engine and the language data (a few MB) are downloaded once and start loading as soon as you add an image. After that, reading takes a few seconds.
● Your image is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers. The first run downloads the processing model from a public CDN, then it's cached.
How it works
KadiTools runs Tesseract, the open-source OCR engine originally developed by HP and Google, compiled to WebAssembly. The language data (2–15 MB per language) is downloaded the first time and cached. The optional pre-processing converts the image to grayscale and stretches its contrast, which helps with phone photos of documents.
FAQ
How accurate is it?
Very good on clean printed text (scans, screenshots). Handwriting, curved or stylized text and blurry photos give poorer results.
Can I read Arabic?
Yes, choose Arabic or French + Arabic. Right-to-left text is supported.
