How it works

Print size = pixels ÷ DPI. A 3000×2000 photo at 300 DPI prints at 10×6.67 inches (25.4×16.9 cm). The DPI value stored in a file is only a hint for printing software; changing it doesn't add or remove pixels. KadiTools rewrites the JFIF header (JPG) or the pHYs chunk (PNG) so the image data stays byte-for-byte identical.

FAQ

What DPI do I need?

300 DPI for photo prints and magazines, 150 DPI for posters viewed from a distance, 72–96 DPI for screens (DPI doesn't matter on screens).

Does changing DPI improve quality?

No. Quality depends on the number of pixels. A higher DPI value only makes the print physically smaller.
