SHA-1 Generator
Compute the SHA-1 hash of any text — for legacy systems and checksums.
SHA-1 is broken for security use. Collisions can be produced, so don't rely on it for signatures or integrity against an attacker. It is fine for legacy checksums only.

How it works
SHA-1 produces a 160-bit hash (40 hex characters). Practical collisions were demonstrated in 2017 (SHAttered), so it must not be used for signatures or security anymore. It remains common in legacy systems, Git object IDs and simple checksums.
